a rare poster, produced during the long new york trial of the panther 21. The first example of this poster we have seen. Alice Faye Williams, or Afeni Shakur, music businesswoman and activist (1947-2016) played a key role in the trial. Beyond the historic length of the trial itself, the proceedings were made even more historic by Afeni Shakur's insistence that she mount her own defense. The trial lasted five months and Shakur's brilliant argument for her defense as well as the others, plus her cross-examination of witnesses was that of a seasoned trial attorney. In the end, and to the amazement of many, the jury took less than an hour to return a verdict of not guilty.
